This Visit Scotland information centre is well set out. The shop is excellent, with a variety of Scottish gifts at a good range of prices.Good information on the locality. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
went in to see if they had info re paths in and around the area got a great booklet and have done some of the walks.
From a 25 year old photograph of this monument, taken on a previous motorcycling holiday, that gave no clue as to its location, Chris and Ailsa in the Jedburgh Tourist Office, found it on the A686 at Langley near Haydon Bridge. This has now encouraged me to return to this part of the country and stay at Langley Castle, a Grade 1 medieval building now a hotel.Chris and Ailsa have not only fulfilled their role in encouraging tourism but assisted a potential tourist who intends to return to the area.Their effort in this piece of detective work is of the highest order and I am deeply indebted to them for their truly excellent service. The area is well worth a visit. It offers Hadrian's Wall, Alston, England's highest market town, Hartside Height, the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Forest and of course Jedburgh with its impressive ruined abbey.Beautiful countryside steeped in history.
Before enjoying the beautiful Abbey ruin, we popped in at the Jedburgh Information Centre, where we were greeted by Chris and Jackie. We had a very friendly chat, great fun. If you should visit Jedburgh, definitely pass by the information centre for advice. You’ll start your stay in Jedburgh with a big smile!
